Sanjay Dutt has been sentenced to Jail for 5 years by the Supreme Court in connection with the 1993 Mumbai blasts case. The Supreme Court upheld the actor’s conviction but reduced his sentence from 6 years to 5 years in jail. Sanjay, who has already served 18 months in jail, will now have to spend another 3 years and 6 months in jail.
However, Dutt can still file a review petition against the verdict within the next 4 weeks. If he doesn’t appeal in the given time period, he will have to surrender before the Bombay High Court and will be sent to jail to serve his sentence.
